Creating the CFTally Experience
At CrossFit Tallahassee, our team of coaches collaboratively shapes the member experience. While each coach brings their unique personality and style, these differences don't impact the overall member experience. Members choose classes based on their schedule rather than specific coaches because all classes operate under the same rules and procedures. While coaches have their own way of conveying information, the core subjects remain consistent across all classes.
Training at CFTally
Here's a general outline of how a class typically unfolds. Specific guidelines can be found in the sections below.
As a coach, you should arrive at the class about 15 minutes before it begins. By this time, you should have already reviewed the plan for the day and checked the list of members who have reserved their spot. Armed with this information, you can formulate a coaching approach for the class. Some key considerations:
Are there newcomers to the gym or your coaching?
What potential bottlenecks could affect class efficiency?
Are there any members with special needs, and do you anticipate any necessary modifications?
Is the timing of the workout flexible or tight?
Coaching the first class of the day differs from others, so plan accordingly. Being early allows you to address any challenges that may arise. It's best to have everything set up before class to avoid last-minute issues.
Gym Setup (order may vary):
Start the music: Connect your phone to the Bluetooth module and set the volume to a low level. This prevents music-related delays when the WOD is about to begin.
Turn on the Wod TV: Adjust the font size to the maximum while ensuring the entire page is visible.
Open the doors: Typically, open the side door and the back door. In cold weather with no planned outdoor activities, you can keep the roll-up door closed.
Turn on the fans: Use fans when needed, especially in warmer months.
Greet Your Class: Greet each athlete with their first name. Introduce anyone new to the gym or class including any drop-in visitors.
