Experienced Crossfit athlete

You have been there and done that. Seeking a new CrossFit home. You have come to the right place!

cftally culture

You know that CrossFit is not a franchise, and that makes us all different.

We might be similar to your old box but there will be differences. How much these differences make is up to you.

We will do our best to help you make the right decision.

crossfit as it should be

We believe in the CrossFit prescription of constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity. We do not exclude any training modalities. This means we run 5ks, squat, deadlift, and work on advanced gymnastic movements too.

Scaling

Scaling is our friend. It is what helps us develop our athleticism. Going r/x is great but you have to be ready for it. That means doing all the movements with good form and at the necessary intensity.

competition

Done right competition increases the intensity which both increases the fitness and the fun. Done wrong and it inhibits these same things. We strive to strike a balance.

Having fun

If you are not having fun then you may stick around long enough to see any results. We try to be serious enough to get it done but not so serious we never have any fun. We have get togethers including Murph on Memorial Day among others.

What People Are Saying

“I could go on and on about the all the advantages that are offered at CFTally but I will end by simply saying if you have the chance to workout there you are very lucky and if you are a crossfitter and are passing through Tallahassee and want you butt kicked in one of the best gyms around, but be warned you might look at your box in a completely different light.”

— Chad

“...As I leave Tallahassee behind and move to Tampa, I am worried about what my CrossFit future holds. I have been so blessed and spoiled at CFTally that nothing will ever surpass or probably even come close to it.”

— Kevin

“As I mentioned on a few occasions I have had the opportunity to travel around to more than a few CF locations and with rare exception each box made me appreciate CFTally more. I know I am in much better shape/fitness thanks to my time at CFTally and look forward to continuing my Crossfit journey with the foundation you and your gym has so ably laid.”

Uniquely CFTally

Getting a sense of who we are

  • Programming

We believe in CrossFit. That means we are constantly varying the stimuli of the workouts. That said we prioritize strength training and generally do 1-2 heavy lifting days per week. Gymnastics also require dedication for more advanced work so time set aside to make it happen. We believe running is something everyone should be able to do and during the summer we run. Colder (for us) months have us rowing more. Of course we love having fun doing more peripheral movements like Turkish Get-ups, pistols, rope climbing and strongman movements. These are the spice that keep things interesting.

  • community

To us community means everyone here knows each other and that we are all friends. We have no cliques. Cliques depend on exclusion for their specialness and we do not allow that. The sooner you get to know everyone and the sooner they get to know you the sooner you will be part of our community.

  • Festivus

Festivus is a competition for “the rest of us” that is it is focused on people new to CrossFit and not “Fire Breathers” It is a lot of fun and we love doing it. Click here for more info

  • SugarWod

SugarWod is our log book. As you know at the end of every workout you have some number that quantifies your efforts. We ask that you enter this into SugarWod after the Wod and before you leave us. SugarWod is much more than that. It helps use get to know each other. Watch a video about it here

  • Push Press

If what you want to do involves the Wod then you will use SugarWod for everything else you use Push Press. Push Press does many things including setup the classes, liability waivers and it is how you pay us. What you will use it for most often is reserving your class. Even before Covid but especially after we do not overload classes but we also do not like to turn anyone away. Reserving your class in advance prevents this awkward situation. Watch a video about it here

  • Rockbot

Working out would not be as much fun without music. We use the Rockbot service to supply our music. It imports Spotify and Apple Music playlists so it is always fresh. There’s a display that shows what is playing and what is up next. Click here for more information

  • Covid, Health and Safety

We comply with all medical advice when it comes to Covid. There are several CFTally members that are physicians that help us too. We provide blue towels and solution for cleaning. During all of Covid we luckily have never had an outbreak associated with CFTally.

  • Comfort and Cooling

If you are new to Tallahassee you will soon find that for most of the year it is quite hot and humid. Since we frequently are outside air conditioning does not work for us. What does work is our large 16’ fan and 10 60” fans strategically placed around the box. Those along with our 10+ windows makes for a very nice training environment.

  • Cleanliness

In our 14+ years as a CrossFit Affiliate we have learned a thing or two about keeping this place clean. Everyday we use our autoscrubber to clean the floors. Every week all of our bars are cleaned. And so it goes. You will not find a cleaner box than CFTally!

  • Fit3D Scanner

Every member of CFTally uses our Fit3D scanner monthly to check in on their results. This is, of course, only one way of measuring results but it is something everyone is interested in. Click here for more information.

  • After Hours Access

There might be times when you are too busy to make a class and if you are experienced you might also be prepared to do the wod without a coach. For these times we offer our After Hours Access program. With this program you get an access card that unlocks the door for you. There are a few limitations but nothing that will get in most people’s way.

  • Gear

We, like most CrossFit athletes love our gear! At CFTally we often get special shirts made and other logoed gear.

  • We love Kids!

If you have kids they are welcome. We have a “kid corral” but it only corrals the small ones. Bigger ones are welcome to swing on our ropes and rings as long as they stay out of the way.

  • We love dogs!

We love dogs! Please please bring them with you. And yes you must bring a leash. We have places distributed around the box for you to tie them up. Dogs love to come here!

  • Free Refreshments

We provide fruit, usually bananas and oranges, along with coffee and tea. The CFTally athlete fridge is for you. If you find something in it you want then take it. If you find yourself frequently taking something then bring some replacements. Nothing like a popsicle after a long hot wod!

  • Class times

Our class times are Monday through Friday at 6am and 12 noon then every hour on the hour from 4 to our last class at 6pm.

  • Long Term Relationship

Our focus is on the long term. Every coaching decision we make is through that lense. We have many mult-year members with several with us over a decade. Join us and you can join them.

Without results what is the point?

“Before working out at CFTally, I used to dread working out. After joining CFTally, working out was easily the favorite part of my day. Not only did CFTally make working out fun and interesting, but it was a time where I could be amongst friends. Because becoming healthier is a common goal for everyone, it brought everyone together and helped us push and encourage each other. I made several friends at CF Tally. The individuals who work out there are honestly some of the most fun, positive people I have met.”

— Jenna

“CFTally makes you a better human being. Spend your money and time where you are going to get the most value, and be valued as a member. I am so grateful I have had CFTally and its members in my life for so long. 8 years!”

— Kelly

“The only thing missing is you”
