Simply put, CrossFit Tallahassee’s mission is to help, “Create lifelong sustainable fitness in our members.” After spending time in our facility and with our team we want our members to walk out of our doors after a workout and feel like they are better version of themselves. It isn’t the scientific sum of calories, workouts and weight that keeps our members returning. It is not the cutting edge equipment and technology. It is the people that count. Our team cares about guiding and encouraging each and every member to obtain the goals they seek for themselves. Our members’ goals are specific and if we can assist in that journey to realizing their aspirations then we have truly helped them change their life.

I wandered into CFTally 13 months ago, having barely hit a gym in 5 years. At first, I had just hoped to put some weight on the bar. Then I was hitting the women’s weights, now I’m getting close to hitting the prescribed weight on most workouts. It’s been hard work, but worth every second!

For my last semester of college I was looking for one last new thing to try.  An ad for CrossFit came up on my Instagram one day in January and I thought to myself "why not?"  So I gave Crossfit Tallahassee a call and Coach Greg set me up immediately with their app which allows athletes to track and analyze their stats. A few days later I sat through the intro to CrossFit class and that is where I realized that Crossfit was perfect for me. CrossFit is about fitness, not aesthetics  (even though aesthetics do come). After working with the trainer Coach Greg for roughly four months, I lost 20lbs and gained a tremendous amount of self confidence.

After being a member at CFTally for eight and a half months, it became one of the hardest places to say goodbye to when I was about to move. Having completed my first competition, a nutrition challenge, and truly feeling like I was a part of this incredible family, I was heartbroken to leave. Going to the daily WODs was pretty much the highlight of my day and even if I was in a horrible mood going to the gym after an 8 hour work day, I almost inevitably left the gym in a fantastic mood- and normally pretty exhausted, though in a great way.
Every time you walk into the gym someone is there to greet you with a hello and a smile.  Crossfit Tally became a place of acceptance even if you aren’t the most elite athlete. I learned that I could overcome my limits by setting goals, competing with myself, and showing great improvement just after 6 weeks.
