Karissa - Law Student

I decided to begin CrossFit because I wanted to get back into the athletic shape I used to be in, or hopefully even better. I have access to the campus gym anymore since I had graduated and I have always enjoyed working out with people but I didn't really just want to start doing Zumba or something like that. I knew a couple of people who had done CF before so I thought "why not?" I could always quit if I didn't like it.
While every affiliate gym does an introduction to CF differently, I really liked Greg's three day foundation courses. Well, that third day I wouldn't have probably used the word "like" to describe how I felt. It was intense, but at the same time it made me feel proud of myself for getting a preview of what I was signing up for. By the end of the first month I knew I wouldn't stop crossfitting- I was hooked into the CF cult.

After being a member at CFTally for eight and a half months, it became one of the hardest places to say goodbye to when I was about to move. Having completed my first competition, a nutrition challenge, and truly feeling like I was a part of this incredible family, I was heart broken to leave. Going to the daily WODs was pretty much the high light of my day and even if I was in a horrible mood going to the gym after an 8 hour work day, I almost inevitably left the gym in a fantastic mood- and normally pretty exhausted, though in a great way. It's not only the insanely great way I feel after I work out, and how mind blowing it is to me that I can even get through these work outs, the trainers and members of CFTally are just some of the most incredible and supportive people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I know I won't stop crossfitting (and I haven't even on summer break before moving up to Tennessee!!) but I know no gym will ever replace CFTally in my heart.

If anyone is at all interested in trying out CF, you won't find a more supportive, amazing group of people to train with. You aren't just joining a gym, it truly is its own family who is always willing to open up to new people.

I miss you guys and promise to visit! And will always welcome anyone who wants to visit me in Tennessee :)

Chris - Physical Therapist Assistant Student

A decision I will never forget…

I had been looking for a something new here in Tallahassee because I was sick of the standard gyms. I had no motivation to go anymore and I needed something different, something that was challenging. I came into CrossFit Tallahassee to get a feel for the place and have not left since.

If you are even considering CrossFit, come in check the place out and I put money on it that you will not go anywhere else. Greg runs a great gym and the trainers are awesome (Jon, Rachel, Liz, Levi, Patrick, Jimmy, and Danny).  Where else will you find a gym where everyone encourages you, and pushes you to do things you never thought you could do? Where would you find a gym full of people who go to competitions just to cheer on others, or go get brunch as a group after a workout?  CFTally is that gym!

Let’s be honest… you will learn so much here, especially about yourself. It will not be easy, it may not always be fun, but you will have people encouraging you and pushing you to do more even when you want to stop.  If you do not know much about the movements the trainers will teach you exactly how it should be done, or they will stop you. They will make sure you are doing the exercise correctly; they will not let you do it wrong and hurt yourself.

If you want to be healthier, work hard, be pushed and better yourself this is the place to be. Do not waste your time with other places or standard gyms. I am sure you think the prices may be expensive, but really it is not for everything you get.  Like I said before, it will not be easy but if you make the choice to join, you will not regret it.

Will - Emergency Management

Greg:
Thanks for the note, morning WOD was good (made the transition to the 5:30 class here, no problem).  But, it was a little sad not seeing the normal crew this AM.

Thanks for providing a great service and experience at CFTally. I truly enjoyed the environment and atmosphere.  As I mentioned on a few occasions I have had the opportunity to travel around to more than a few CF locations and with rare exception each box made me appreciate CFTally more.  I know I am in much better shape/fitness thanks to my time at CFTally and look forward to continuing my Crossfit journey with the foundation you and your gym has so ably laid.

I hope to be able to drop in sometime again in the future. Take care and please keep in touch (I know I will be checking the website from time to time to keep up with everyone's progress).

"I've tried almost every type of popular workout out there, including P-90X, Insanity, and some martial arts.  But no matter what I did, I always felt like those programs would eventually stop challenging me.

I started cross fit in January of 2011, primarily because it had just gained popularity and I was still looking for that consistent challenge.  It's been a year and a half since I started cross fit, and I can nearly guarantee that I'm going to keep doing this for the rest of my life.  I'm always seeing consistent improvements in my physical fitness, and I'm always being challenged.

In my opinion, the hardest part is actually GOING to the gym.  But once you're there, the cross fit staff takes over and whips you into shape for an hour.  As a law student, every day was a grind.  But no matter how busy you are, EVERYONE can always set aside an hour per day for a great workout.  Crossfit definitely made law school easier for me, and I know it will make my career easier as well.

A healthy body leads to a healthy mind, which eventually leads to a healthy life, no matter what line of work or school you're in.  I trusted Greg and the CF-Tally crew, and so should you!"

Jenna - Speech-Language Pathologist (Almost!)

Throughout my life I have been involved in some sort of fitness. I have played a number of individual and team sports, and have been to a number of different gyms and various physical training classes. I am always looking for a way to make myself a better athlete and healthier individual, and CrossFit gave me a chance to do both of these things and more. I originally heard about CrossFit from a friend, and was initially hesitant to join. I didn’t know if I had the time or finances to put toward fitness. What I didn’t know at the time, was that CrossFit would be the best investment I have ever made.

When I started my first classes at CrossFit Tallahassee, everyone was so welcoming and encouraging. The trainers and members in the classes were always willing to answer my questions, help me learn new movements, and there to encourage me in every way possible. Everyone at the gym is very supportive and encouraged me to work as hard as I possibly could in each workout. Throughout my time at CrossFit Tallahassee, I was able to do things I never thought I could ever do. The trainers and other members of the gym challenged me both mentally and physically.  They believed in me, and always were there to instill faith in me. The positive environment at CF Tally helped me gain confidence in what I could do, and made me push to better myself every single day.

Before working out at CF Tally, I used to dread working out. After joining CF Tally, working out was easily the favorite part of my day. Not only did CrossFit make working out fun and interesting, but it was a time where I could be amongst friends. Because becoming healthier is a common goal for everyone, it brought everyone together and helped us push and encourage each other. I made several friends at CF Tally. The individuals who work out there are honestly some of the most fun, positive people I have met.

Overall, I can say that after joining CrossFit, I will never turn back to my old style of working out. I am healthier than I have ever been in my life. CrossFit has become a way of life for me. It has changed me for the better in a number of positive ways. It has changed the way I work out, making me a stronger, faster, more well-rounded athlete. It has also taught me the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle through well-balanced nutrition. I can honestly say that joining CrossFit Tallahassee was one of the best decisions I have ever made. It has made me into a stronger individual both mentally and physically. It has taught me to believe in myself, to set goals, and to achieve those goals.

I honestly was frustrated after writing this testimonial, because I don’t think I could ever come up with the words to give CrossFit Tallahassee the justice it deserves. If you are even thinking about joining this gym, I HIGHLY encourage you to try it out. It will probably turn out to be one of the best decisions you have ever made.
